Complete Dashboard Onboarding
Dashboard onboarding guides owners and permitted operators through four required steps. Use Deploy Your First Assistant for the complete end-to-end deployment and verification flow.
Required steps
| Step | Completion meaning | How progress is detected |
|---|---|---|
| Set up capture | An assistant exists | Assistant count or the saved onboarding step |
| Add content sources | At least one knowledge item exists | Document count or the saved step |
| Preview widget | A test interaction has been performed | Message count or the saved step |
| Install question capture | The user confirms the embed step | Saved onboarding state; installation cannot be inferred from counts |
Refine widget details is an optional follow-up, not part of the four-step completion total.
Applicability and access
Creating an assistant, adding knowledge, and updating configuration require the corresponding role permissions. The dashboard can resume from repository-backed workspace state when assistant, document, or message counts are ahead of the saved step. It cannot prove that a copied snippet is live on the intended website.
If a step is locked, ask an owner or admin to check your role and assistant scope. If the plan blocks an action, the product shows the relevant plan state.
Resume or verify onboarding
Return to Overview. The stepper opens the next actionable step and permits revisiting completed work. After the embed step, verify the live website using the checklist in Embed and Deploy the Widget.
Onboarding is complete when the saved state reaches the fourth required step. The next operational task is to inspect eligible evidence in Captured Questions, then review Friction Insights.
